Many of us never heard "Thank you for your service", not when we came home. And when we hear it today, we are loathe to accept it as honest and sincere. "Once burnt, twice shy," as the saying goes. However, it's time to move on, to be better than those who scorned us. When someone thanks you, nothing is required. A simple "You're welcome," is polite. I respond, "It was an honor to serve." BTW, you can accept the thanks offered in this video as sincere. It was produced by one of the few American institutes of education where respect for America, its Constitution, and its values are still taught.
