During an intense situation like this one, all sailors have a responsibility to look after one another. I admire this Captain. After the fact he could be disciplined to some degree for a chain of command violation. I bet in Vietnam, leaders of a combat squad broke protocols to protect squad members in order to save as many lives as possible.

BS Chip! Did you forget all of your OPSEC training? He let the world know that a national level asset is out of commission. He shat outside the lifelines and they canned him. Now he can't do anything for the troops he "cared" for and he knew exactly what was going to happen.
