Different things work for different people. Physical activity does tend to be helpful. Animal assisted therapy works for some. VR works for some.

Physical activity allows you to focus on things other than that which may be affecting you. Sports competition requires enough focus to eliminate anything else from the forefront of thoughts

I feel rugby has a lot to offer. A sense of calm in all the chaos in just reacting to whats going on on the pitch. Good degree of mental and physical stress. While nothing like combat it will produce an endorphin rush as well. Similar bond and brotherhood - kicking the crap out of each other then hanging out telling jokes while having a drink. Not your typical Saturday fun but rugby is not for typical individuals.
