I remember getting 5 shots like that in Basic and AIT. I was a split option soldier and they gave me the same damn shots two summers in a row even though I had my shot records. I'm good on my tetanus shots until the year 2100. I can't remember how many different shots they gave us in preparation for Operation Desert Storm.

You should have seen us trying to set up a camp after getting another tetanus shot. None of us could swing the mallets or sledge hammers with only one arm. The Commanding Major was pissed that gave us the shots before we set up summer camp area. Oh, it was located on a limestone rock quarry for good measure. All the wooden stakes were useless and the aluminum stakes all bent out of shape. It was a nice job on site selections by one of our leaders.

I hated those things, sooner take a needle and the medics that gave me the needle were very good at it, way better than those air guns.
