I read the original article and Groveland mayoral candidate George Rosario's explanation of the "miscommunication". IMHO, the explanation is BS. Boils down to "in process of appealing a purple heart that he self submitted" and two bronze stars on his Southwest Asia Service Medals (as opposed to two Bronze Stars). A person who has never served might find this explanation reasonable but someone who has served in the military knows this explanation is BS.

Exactly Sir. I have busted two guys at the VA I go to, and one member of RP. It felt really good. Anyone can look at my records and see that they are what I have listed in my bio here on RP. It feels good to not have to worry about someone challenging me. I had a very successful two years in the Army, and no reason whatsoever to embellish anything. That's why these phonies and embellishers PO me so much. When I think about all of the buds I had, and some of them came home in a box, it makes me want to kick their ass.

I would never embellish my record or think about wearing anything I wasn't formally awarded. Heck, I hate that I missed Expert on my pistol qual by two points - but I will wear sharpshooter until I qualify expert. I know that's probably a bad example, but if the integrity of the lowest ribbon you can wear is that important, anything higher should be just as much if not more.

Not a bad example at all, ENS (Join to see). Is a little lie better than a big lie? No,they are both lies. My meaning is, you could wear expert pistol, and only you would know it, but it's still a lie. It's no different than wearing a Silver Star, when all you really earned was a Bronze Star. It doesn't matter if it's the least award or a major award.

There are so many military members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can continue to serve and uphold the honor they deserve, this shit needs to stop like yesterday. These people are trash and need to be held accountable, and punished to the full extent especially if they have served and intentionally claim false ribbons or a rank they did not actually obtain.

PO3 (Join to see), They are either mentally retarded or they have no soul, or both. They're low life's. I don't care if they served or never served. They are all POS, and low lifes. If the law would put some teeth in Stolen Valor, it may not stop, but it would slow it down. If someone poses as a cop, they will be arrested and go to jail. For all of the honest military members, or vets, it's the same thing to me. They need to be arrested and fined a large amount.
