I agree...folks that start off like that are usually the ones that are the most extreme. I had an African American Colonel Mentor (still talk to him a lot) who we talked a lot about race relations over the years and had some serious and passionate discussions. One of his comments that stuck with me is that everyone is racist to a point. If you don't think you are wait till you won't drive through a certain part of town to when you normally don't lock your car but you do because someone of another race is nearby, or you are on the phone with someone or expecting to see a doctor or lawyer or even a plumber and you meet them in person and you judged them on the way they talked and when you meet them they are nothing like that. Yes, racism is inherent in all of us and those that acknowledge it work to get away from it and consciously try to fix it but those that state they are blatantly not racists are the ones that scare me and probably the ones that will cause harm.

Unfortunately, I have seen racism at work both directly and through experiences of family members. My family is African American, Native American, Hispanic and of course Caucasian. Most member of groups I am a member of don't know that. It is very interesting listening to their discussions. I can pretty quickly pick out those who have issues with others

Hampton, VA… that area includes a LOT of military from all 5 branches. Dietrich wasn’t just a member of the electoral board - he was the chairman. Glad to see him out of power.
