The worst part is when you realize that they probably think the same way.

That is harsh. I am now wondering if the divided America will ever heal. You can't argue how one "feels" because feelings are not always rational. I feel bad for both.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Well telling his "friends" that he thinks less of them because they chose the racist sexist misogynist over the woman who should have been on trial is definitely going to change the relationship forever. This reads like a tantrum. My turtle didn't win. I am going to pout and call people names to make myself feel better. I know it is an editorial or OpEd piece, but all it reads like is whining. Hillary lost, get over it. If she was such a great candidate, then why did she lose a general election to Donald Trump? Could it be that she was only a great candidate to the die hard democrats? I didn't want Donald to win. I didn't want Hillary to win. I think both are equally dangerous to our constitutional rights. I voted third party. I have friends who voted for Trump. I have friends who voted for Clinton. I don't care. In reality my friends know where I stand politically. I know where they stand. We know which political subjects are ok to discuss, and which are taboo. If the author really wanted to avoid the conflict, then he should have understood that about his friends and not discussed politics. Otherwise he needs to put on his big boy huggies, and get over himself.
