CW5 Jack Cardwell I disagree with the "brine potato" being the best.I have a potato "bag" that cooks a reasonable sized potato in the microwave in about 5 minutes and there is no over cooked portion or under cooked portion, just a creamy smooth flesh that only needs a little salt and butter to make it great. Some of the best tasting "baked" potatoes i have ever eaten were double wrapped in foil and tossed into the dying coals of a campfire letting the campfire die out while i was hunting or hiking and upon returning remove them from the ashes unwrap them add a little seasoning and really enjoy a treat.

Campfire potatoes are awesome! Never really sure if it is because they are really that great, or if a day outdoors make you so hungry... SSgt Terry P.

LT Brad McInnis As a person that camped almost daily for 25 years,i have to go with --they are just better when prepared that way,of course there is always "each to his own". A rare steak with only a bit of salt cooked on a forked stick over an open fire always ended in perfection for me ---crisp and charred, fat caramelized outside with the juices sealed on the inside. No way to cook one better that i have found.
