It amazes me that we can no longer have civil discourse, the ability to agree to disagree and still remain civil and friendly. Where and when did we lose this?

We lost it when the media started getting ratings and advertising dollars tied to sensational stories.

SGT (Join to see) Maj Robert Thornton It is my sincere belief that our political parties and our media have become so polarized that there is no ability to speak across political lines anymore. The left is preaching to the left and their audience will hear nothing that doesn't come from their pundits, and the exact same paradigm is in place on the right. There is, in my opinion, now way to get a message of unity or teamwork and cooperation through to either side. If we do not fix this soon, it will become a permanent, systemic problem that will lead to some really bad situations...

Unfortunately, a good deal of the problem comes in the form of outside funding by the likes of Soros and Bloomberg. Maybe it is time to look into this funding that pays people to protest and incite violence.

It's a fast paced world, it's easy to see something, say something, and instantly it's in the face of a few million people. Only to realize just minutes later (or hours/day) that it may be false.
i myself say stupid things like a normal person, and take them back quickly, but this only affects one or a few people, not millions.
At least the "false" information was retracted. All to often I see falsehoods spoken and never retracted, even when challenged and asked to "restate, or clarify" the answer has been "it's what I heard", or simply it's the truth, even when false (and that's our president).
I personally check my facts from MANY reputable sources. Do my own research, even if the "fact checkers" say it's true/false, I try to double check when I can.
In the current political climate, lying seems easier to sway voters than the truth. It sucks!
