Chip,
Nothing was said in article about any weapons. Stay with the subject shipmate.
As for the "pay and benefits", it is just like all government employees that are "out of sight, out of mind". They ignore until they are ready to strike or quit, then say they have no money (because they gave it away in the previous years to someone less deserving) and want the teachers to be understanding. Did the state politicians lose the same percentage of take home wage as the teachers have due to increased medical, dental, and other insurance hikes? I doubt it.

There will not be an easy way out of this. Lots of states will run into this problem when the boomers retirement funds that states "borrowed" from are due as well.

My $0.02 for what it is worth.

From the article: "Gov. Jim Justice signed a bill Wednesday to give teachers a 2 percent pay raise starting in July, and an additional 1 percent pay increase in 2020 and 2021." No guns were mentioned.
