1SG(P) (Join to see), I thought the television series, Downton Abbey, did a good job of conveying the British perspective of WWI, from both the military and civilian sides.

I recommend "Oh! What a Lovely War". It's a musical; but quite dark and tragic.

Thanks, 1SG(P) (Join to see). I've watched many war movies and I'm not put off by musicals. In fact, there are many I like (very un-SF I know). With a cast of thousands, I can't believe I haven't seen it before. I'll check it out!
