I get that it's supposed to be a feel good story, but honestly I'm sick to death of people waiting for other people to do things for them. She waited decades for a black President... what was stopping her from throwing her hat in the race. She waited decades for a woman President... what was stopping her from throwing her hat in the race.

It's sad that we'll demonize any black person or female person when they run as a Republican, but the moment their on a Democrat ticket people are "praying for a black President" or "praying for a woman President". People should come to grips with themselves that they really don't care about having a black President or woman President. They just want a Democratic President.

If people really wanted a woman President so badly, then why aren't more women running? Hell Trump is 70 years old. The minimum age is 35. He is literally twice the minimum age to be President.

Personally I think people need to stop putting so much stock in skin color and where genitals are located. We don't need a black President. We don't need a woman President. We don't need a white President. We don't need a male President.

We need a good President. Plain and simple.

All of your comments are true. However, this lady is probably having a different few because she comes from a time period where people didn't have those rights so she's celebrating those successes.

A person's gender is as poor a reason to vote for or against their presidency as skin color, eye color, hair color, height, weight, etc. etc. etc.

While it is an interesting article I wish to point out a few things.
"didn't cast her first ballot until the age of 34, after leaving the Jim Crow South and passing New York's now-illegal literacy test."
Her first Ballot was cast because of the Republicans ending Segregation, Jim Crow laws and the Civil Rights Bill. Democrats opposed all of these things.

I get it the "First Women to be President" but She was not the First Women to ever run for the white house. Victoria Claflin Woodhull ran in 1872, then you have Belva Ann Bennett Lockwood who ran in 1884 and 1888, How about Margaret Chase Smith in 1964 Smith was the first woman to have her name placed in nomination for President by a major party. She received Republican primary votes in New Hampshire, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas, and Oregon, among others, and had twenty-seven first ballot votes at the Republican National Convention.

In total there have been 14 Women to run for POTUS, HRC was just the latest one. As a Conservative I will point out that had HRC not run I believe Trump would not be President. HRC Criminal (Proven or other wise) History and the 22 Scandals that have been her hallmark were her undoing. Trump rode on a wave of Americans who refused to except HRC as anything other than a grafter out to sell America off.

Next time a Women runs (and I hope they do) I hope it will be some one with no political history in Washington who has common sense and not under investigation by the FBI.
