I am still waiting for someone to explain the difference in our response to COVID19 and our response to Influenza A and Influenza B.
The following are things I believe to be true, but I readily admit I may be misinformed.
The United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released their estimates for the influenza season from October 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020.
Estimated Cases: 34-49 MILLION
Estimated Hospitalizations: 350-620 THOUSAND
Estimated Deaths: 20-52 THOUSAND
For COVID19 as of April 6, 2020
Estimated Cases: 364 THOUSAND [roughly 10% of the number for influenza A&B]
Estimated Hospitalizations: could not find a national estimate.
Estimated Deaths: 11 Thousand [roughly 50% of the low range for the Influenza]
It appears to me that the numbers for Influenza and for COVID19 are similar. There is also a high likelihood that the number of COVID19 cases are grossly under reported which would bring the mortality rates much more in line with the flu. Is this level of national response the new norm? Why was there nowhere near this level of concern/panic/response for the flu? The flu has produced these kids of numbers for years. In addition the flu does not seem to be nearly as specific in the demographics that it produces the most deaths 60+ years of age and/or underlying health conditions.
I don't wish to appear as a tin foil hat conspiracy theorist but it seems to me that we are allowing politicians' a great deal of latitude over our lives for something that is not really without precedent in our lives.
So someone who gets it... please explain.

There is a segment of the powers-that-be who believe that they should never let a "crisis" go to waste, even if they have to manufacture the "crisis", and they are capitalizing on this one to radically reshape this country.

JFK warned us about the military-industrial complex, but most people weren't listening. Bush told us that a New World Order is coming to America right after 9-11, but most people ignored it. UN, Soros, Agenda 21, etc. and all about the NWO. Time to start paying attention.

SGT Steve McFarland If you actually look further back the New World Order has been touted by all Presidents since Ronald Regan.
