What Good Are the Indian Navy's Aircraft Carriers Against Pakistan?

I grant the premise, certainly, however, as a nation, one would quite logically expect that they'd want to engage in sea power projection, just as much as any of the other major powers, I completely understand the Indian Pakistani antipathy, historically, however, I'd expect designing carriers for a true blue water Navy by India must obviously carry other sociopolitical and/or socioeconomic benefits, I'd expect, you know?
