I have mentioned in many discussions on RP that my father was a virulent racist. He hated everybody except German-Lutherans (and he wasn't German, but liked to pretend he was). My most embarrassing moment came just before I left to join the Army. An older gentleman who had befriended me at work (tried to mitigate the trouble I was causing for the bosses) invited me to dinner as a going away present. My father made life miserable at the suggestion. The man was black. To my great shame I respectfully declined to keep the peace at home knowing that my mother would have to bear the brunt of his wrath inasmuch as I was leaving (for good) in a few days

I've never had an ill will or word to anyone that didn't deserve it.
I was raised that way, raised my own that way, and they are raising my grands that way.
Regardless, all have experienced, as myself also, great hostilities towards us in predominantly African American (I hate that hyphenation) areas.
So my privelages expired years ago on this issue.
For some, we are evil because of skin color.
Both sides of the aisle.
However, no race is in competition with each other...........for the benefit of anyone except self.
I was raised that way, raised my own that way, and they are raising my grands that way.

When someone here on RP told me that I just didn't understand that the success I had coming from a poor family to where I am was due to white privilege.
If it was why did I have to go to schools 4 nights a week and Saturday to qualify for the program I got? It should have just been given to me because of white privilege.

When I was moved to the front of the line to get my monthly installment from the white privlidge fund. These new white privileged members weren't taught the proper way to do the secret handshake. What a disappointment. Now off I go to oppress the victims of white privilege. Where's my minority limo driver?
