Sometimes it's what's inside. Sometimes the decanter. Often both. I can't fathom wealth that allows someone to have their daily dram come from a case of 1926 Macallan at $75,000 bottle. If you've got it flaunt it, I guess. Many cognac lovers don't bat an eye at $2400 per bottle for Remy Martin XIII. I rarely drink spirits at all, but do like some of the better bourbons such as Woodford's. I've read about Pappy Van Winkles but have never had any. I tried Johnny Blue in Dubai as a treat. It was at the Seaman's Club for $ 5 a shot, so I gave it a dance. Macallan 15 is not bad for the price. Bushmill's or Jameson's are good Irish for the price. I don't have the nose or palate (or wallet) for the expensive stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Sgt Wayne Wood As long as there is an audience that is willing to pay, they will continue to sell. I love all types of whiskey/whisky, but the barrels are a little out of my price range. I would love to try them though. Cheers.

Sam's Club sells Jack Daniels by the barrel. I guess if you have money to burn, why not.

LTC (Join to see) Little known fact: the number one purchaser of Jack Daniels single barrels is the US Military. Specifically AAFES and MWR for Morale!
