They better sell a lot of bumper stickers considering in the last 8 months:
- Impeachment trial.
- Betraying the country about the threat of COVID-19.
- Pushing for states to open regardless of CDC guidelines.
- Negative GDP.
- 12 million unemployed.
- Civil unrest.
Let's look at more of Trump's achievements:
- 200 miles of border wall built. We actually replaced 200 miles of the old border wall. It costs around $2000 a foot to build, but spry young Mexicans can climb over the wall. Some of it is already threatened by erosion. Only 1800 miles to go.
- He started a trade war with China. Many of the small farms went under and we subsidize $35 billion to generally the larger farms. We the tax payers are subsidizing large farms.
- He claimed victory against ISIS. Then he turns his back on the Kurds and about 1000 ISIS members escape.
- He illegally used Veterans Charity Funds for his own purpose. Are you proud about that too?
- Lets look at the global strategic posture. China is using the belt and road initiative to make economic inroads into many countries to include buying 40 leases of ports around the world. Trump what does he want? Trade Puerto Rico for Greenland. lol

MAJ Ken Landgren - The consistent theme I'm getting from all of this isn't that Trump "did nothing"... but that (from your perspective) he didn't do the "right things" using the "right people". That could very well be true... unfortunately, we'll never know. Some people think that when we face a crisis, everyone in public office should defer to the "experts"... it kinda makes sense, I'll admit. I once worked for an amazing Skipper who was a superb fighter pilot... he knew better than to try and tell the Boatswain how to steer the ship. On the other hand, he didn't consult the Chief of the Boat about the course he wanted to steer. As I've said from the beginning of this year... context is everything. Based on where we "were" in December-February... I really can't fault anyone in authority for being uncertain. I personally believe the blame for that lands on China... not Trump. I respect your views on Ukraine... but guilty or not, that ship has sailed, and it's not like the opposition candidate has a perfect record either. I guess if I really believed Trump was a crook... I'd have to write in my vote for someone I felt was an honest person.

The first and biggest mistake was Trump lying about the pandemic for weeks. That is like FDR telling Americans during WWII that we need not worry about Japan, Italy, and Germany. Japan started building an emergency team in February. Japan then started to order requisite supplies, equipment, and tests early to support the hospitals in February as well. Japan's approach proves that early planning and mitigation works. It was mid March when Trump called National Emergency. Then a teams started to plan and order requisite items after the pandemic started to grow out of hand. By then the pandemic ship had sailed off in the US and we could not stop it. For that reason we ran out of tests and PPEs.
Of course I can fault Trump for lying for weeks. He betrayed the trust of the people and endangered more people than necessary. The difference is Japan created an emergency team in February and Trump lied about the pandemic then Trump and the administration got somewhat serious in the middle of March. Trump and the administration did not have the intelligence to open up the National Response Framework (NFR) that is the plan for national disasters. The NFR stresses actions that must be taken early but we failed to do so.

MAJ Ken Landgren - Thank you. I appreciate the civility. However, I must again say that is not what this discussion thread concerns and I'm in the middle of editing a book, almost ready for publication. Maybe next week if you want to discuss this, one of us can initiate a new discussion thread pertaining to your contentions. This discussion thread is regarding an apparent lack of enthusiasm for Biden's campaign which I believe is clearly evident. But again, thank you.
