LTC,
As a deployer to Southern Philippines in the early-2000's, I know of the difficulties that lie on the road ahead. That region is placed on the back-burner when it comes to fighting AQ and ISIS/ISIL. As a Terrorism/Counterterrorism graduate from AMU, I've written a few papers regarding that fight in the region.
Thank you for reposting this.

SGT (Join to see) - As far as the back-burner comment, I'm referring to the Navy more, as quite a few Sailors that I speak with have no knowledge of the Philippines, unless they think of being on a ship of the coast. I was boots on ground there and worked with Marines, Air Force, and Army. Saw quite a few USSOCOM guys there as well but didn't interact with them as much.

PO1 (Join to see) - So you depart right before COL Maxwell came down to take over JSOTF-P.
