We're no closer today than we were three months ago at determining the motive of the Las Vegas mass shooting. We need answers to hopefully prevent the next mass shooting. There was a mass shooting at a Kentucky HS yesterday 22 JAN, 2 dead and 19 wounded so far. Shooter is in custody so we'll soon discover his motive.
Drug and gang related gun violence are reasonable for law enforcement and neighborhoods to work together to combat. Random mass shootings are incidents that cannot be pinned on simple terrorism or mental health and require greater resources and HUMINT to combat. And no I'm not addressing gun control or gun rights but looking to widening the scope of discussion about determining cause and effect, mitigation and response by law enforcement and communities.

I am concerned about the lack of actual information about the Vegas shooter, his comings and goings, his network, relationships, phone records, text messages and a host of other things we seem to hear nothing about.
Why does a guy buy over 50 weapons in less than a year, take 5,000 rounds of ammo and 20 or so weapons up to his room? You can only shoot one at a time. You can reload/change mags as fast as you can change weapons. I get a couple of back up weapons in case of a malfunction. He fires only 1,100 rounds leaving 4,000 unfired. Why so many weapon's and so much ammo for one person?
