Veterans always seem to run towards not away from helping others! I'm so incredibly proud to be part of that, and know, that will always run in my blood too!

Doesn't matter if a battle buddy or civilian, when help is needed vets are there.

Hell ya that's what we have been trained to do. I understand that they are not trained first responders but with all the medical training that we in the military go through, IMHO we have enough training to do what needs to be done til help arrives.

SGT Bryon Sergent
SGT (Join to see) - I do not take it as an offense at all. Well, they'er several different questions. Usually when a new private comes to the unit, I play with them a little. As you know it is customary that E-5 through E-7 are called Sergeant. Well I ask them in the meanest voice I can muster (with out laughing) "You calling me by my name or rank Private?" When he starts to studder I ask him "Well which is it?" When I see the pain in his face and I can see the smoke from his ears I usually end up laughing and letting the private off the hook. it's funny as hell!

That's awesome SGT Bryon Sergent. I'll bet you do have a lot of fun. I know I would have. I've been wanting to ask you that since I got on RP. Thanks for not being offended. LOL

SGT Bryon Sergent
SGT (Join to see) - only time I really got offended was in basic. They called me Sirgent. I was like NO it's pronounced like the rank with out the a! Sergeant! "What only been in the Army an hour and you think you are an NCO, beat your face and give me 50!" went on for 3 days till they got tired of it!

SGT Bryon Sergent, In basic I did a stupid thing and drew lightening bolts on my helmet liner. We were on bivouac and I didn't know it, but one of the DI's was calling me, "Hey Lightening". I didn't answer because I had forgotten about the art on my helmet liner. He came over and asked me why I had those so and so on my helmet liner. I messed up and told him I thought they looked cool. He gave me until chow was over to get them off. I used a pine cone like sandpaper and they finally came off. From then on I was private lightening. Every day when we fell out in formation we had to shout our name. I wasn't allowed to yell out Bodine. I had to yell out "private lightening" Sargent . It was hard for them to not laugh but I took it serious.
