It was a lot harder to watch in person, Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen. I told my daughter, who was with me at the time, the buildings were were coming down, because the hear generated by the heat generated by burning jet fuel. Actually, a lot fewer people died than I expected from watching it happen. Those weren't even the only people my little girl had to watch die on that trip. A few days later, on our way back home to Washington, there was a bad head-on collision and we were the first on the scene. She and I tried tearing our way into one of the vehicles, only to find too much of the driver's chest, and her left shoulder, missing. All we could do after that was care for the two survivors until aid finally showed up 20 minutes later. I gotta brag on my daughter. At 19, she was already quite gutsy. There was fuel all over the road, but she climbed right up up into the lady's motor home with me trying to rescue her. Fortunately, the fuel never ignited.
