and like religious fanatics, Anti gun zealots can not be dissuaded with facts. No amount of reality based facts, experience and history, no amount of knowledge will ever change their mind for that would take for them to admit they are wrong, and THAT is just not possible.

The best think I learned is take an anti-gun person to the range. Separate them from their group, and take them to the range with some 22's, and let them shoot after you teach them how to be safe, and they come away with a whole new understanding. If they refuse, then just inform them that anything they have to say is of no value because they are going by hearsay and not fact.

TSgt Larry Johnson I have a couple of my scout parents who were on the fence about guns until they saw the joy and respect thier kids had after shooting a gun and actually hitting the paper targets or getting a bullseye
