Where Does VA Stand Compared to Other Countries?

There is a definite negativity attached to care and benefits provided by the V.A.. Did you know though that in comparison with other countries our V.A. offers a higher level of benefits and range of services than others?

Yes the V.A. has it's faults but in general it provides more services, makes more concessions and attempts to remedy those faults than those of other countries. It is not perfect but the V.A. administration is consistently striving to improve and looking for ways to make easier service possible. "We may have our differences as to the treatment of diseases from toxic chemicals, and the need for more support for PTSD, but these are being remedied by legal proceedings and the appeals process as frustrating as that is to those in the position of being denied benefits."

The U.S. is the only country to provide:
1. Educational benefits to Veterans
2. Job creation employment benefits
3. Education benefits to surviving spouses

The V.A. provides greater amounts of:
1. Housing related benefits such as buy assistance and housing adaptation benefits (some countries provide one or the other the U.S. is the only country that provides both)
2. Burial benefits for all veterans. (Other countries cover only those killed in combat)
3. The range of health services offered by the V.A. exceeds those offered by other countries.
4. More benefits to veteran's families as survivors to include education benefits to deceased or disabled veteran's children
5. Spouses and dependent children of living and deceased veterans--whether disabled or not-are eligible to be buried in a national cemetery.
