Air power can not hold land, nor is it particularly effective in asymmetric warfare. It can soften enemy targets prior to engagement by ground forces, however on it's own it isn't capable of winning anything.

SSG (Join to see) you are correct. Vietnam showed us that, but the air superiority definitely shortened the march in.
