Keep in mind that Veterans Day was originally Armistice Day (celebrating the end of WWI). Basically, President Trump is proposing to restore it to its original form AND create a VE day to celebrate Victory in Europe. That being said, I favor Veterans Day celebrating all Veterans, and Memorial Day celebrating those who sacrificed their lives. Seems efficient. Now, if you want to remember the World Wars, let's try to keep up. Many historians now recognize three-in-one (an Unholy Trinity?). WW Zero, the Sino-Russian War that set the stage for WWI, WWI (which became possible after Russia moved half of its Baltic Sea fleet to the Pacific to replace its fleet there that the Japanese had decimated thereby altering the balance of power in Europe); and WWII which was practically a continuation of WWI.

Seems that way. Unfortunately, those of us who serve/served are one of the smallest minorities in the nation and thus are forced to sit on the sidelines and watch the politics play out

"Create" VE Day?? Aaaaaaah. No. That was NOT the proposal and VE Day has been around for 8 decades, as has VJ Day. I could delve into the psychology behind the President's real intentions here, but I'll skip it. Suffice to say it's a hard NO from most Veterans I've heard from on this.
