"the threat to the republic "

That came about when Mitch McConnel refused to allow the Senate to consider President Obama's nomination for the Court, opening the path to "flooding" the court with conservative justices. Then he handed Trump a list of which nominations would be acceptable to him.

From the article:
"argued that some of the current Supreme Court justices were not forthcoming about their stances on Roe v. Wade during their Senate confirmation hearings."

That is certainly true.

As to the letter, I doubt it will bring about any great change right now.

Politicians complaining about court justices being devious about one issue is not the same as organizing a mob to attack capitol building.

Politicians attempting to strip the Constitutional power of a branch, without convening a Constitutional convention or going through the process of amending the Constitution, thus provoking a Constitutional crisis

versus

a mob of which something over 800 have been charged and most of the convictions have been misdemeanors.

There is no comparison. The former is a road to civil war and a lost republic no matter which way it goes.

She didn't complain. She proposed to Congressional leadership to strip the Constitutional Powers of a separate but equal branch of government.
