We also had a Old Spice Crewcut Wax back in the 50s but it would melt if you spent hours in the sun without a hat. I recall watching a bull fight in Tijuana Mexico and somebody tapped me on the shoulder and said "Excuse me but I think your hair is on fire" because the Old Spice Crewcut Wax was melting and giving off a cloud of smoke.. My girl friend poured water on my head because she was so worried ..

If you grew up in the 40s, 50s or 60s, chances are when you hear the word Brylcreem, you instantly think of the jingle, “a little dab’ll do ya!” It’s easy to see why we remember these jingles when you watch the commercials like the following one, archived by TV Toy Memories. In it, the makers of Brylcreem issue a warning: use only one dab of Brylcreem…anymore could result in”trouble!” Get a blast of nostalgia, and then let us know, what commercial stuck with you the most growing up?

I used 2 Dabs for my crewcut ..however since then the crew bailed & don't have a USMC regulation "High & Tight" haircut anymore
