Interesting Captain, I knew some of these but learned much today. Thank you for sharing this wonderful information.
If I had to say who was the quirkiest, it would be Teddy.

Teddy was a character, that's for sure. He's one I'd like to have back, although if we could raise him from the dead, he'd probably die as soon as he saw what we'd done with the place.

SFC William H. They weren't officially married (the divorce of his wife's first marriage was never recorded). Ultimately, he blamed her death on the vicious attacks they suffered because of the issue and he sought revenge. [In case you're wondering why my response to your question is here instead of accompanying your comment, there was a loose nut behind my computer keyboard]

Thanks, Jack. I have read the bios of Washington, Franklin and Jefferson. Jackson will be next. Thanks again.

SFC William H. - Don't miss Adams. Another very interesting President. Also, watch the musical 1776. It is one of the best representations of the personalities involved. Personally, I identified with Adams, the nudge who kept the ball rolling when everybody else either wanted to quit the game or play another. He often felt unappreciated, hated even, but his wife convinced him to keep at it.

If Andrew Jackson had over 100 duels, most of them over his wife's honor, what was that woman doing?
