I'd agree with the article's author that it's rare for a bad interview to lead to a job. The times I had an interviewee who "bombed" the interview it was because:
-I wasn't really sure why they were there for the interview because they didn't appear qualified for the job and they really weren't
-They appeared qualified for the job on paper, but couldn't substantiate their resume in the interview--smelled like a less-than-honest resume
-Had an attitude that told me they believed they were "too good" for the company for which I worked
-Dressed inappropriately. The private company I worked for was a conservative coat-and-tie organization for many years. Had an interviewee show up in jeans with cowboy boots. Lost badly on first impression.
