Are you afraid of China? Are Trump's overtures to the Taiwanese President making you nervous? Many people assume he doesn't know what he's doing. Maybe they're right. I got to thinking that this would be a good time for us to pause, take a deep breath, and brush up on our knowledge of Chinese/Taiwanese history. I figured that this video would be a good beginning. Hopefully there are others that you can suggest. Maybe some good books on the subject. I don't know about you, but I don't want to join the hysterics running around with their hair on fire, convinced that President-Elect Trump is leading us to war.

In any fight there are winners and losers. If winning without fighting is supreme, then what is losing without fighting? We have been losing without fighting for a long time... time to change that. We need to stand up to China. Maybe not fight, but stop losing.

China's strategy is a long-term (Chinese have always been perfectly willing to wait decades for a desired outcome) reliance on our inaction. They KNEW we wouldn't do shit when they started those islands. They're not stupid. My guess is they stop being an effective fighting force within a week of hostilities opening up. They know it. So, they won't. So Trump won't lead us to war because the Chinese won't start one. But I certainly do hope he parks a DDG in one of those bays, and calls their bluff.
