One answer: Because the left refuses to listen to ideas that counter theirs.

That's another "what" but not a "why". Why don't they listen? They don't want to take responsibility, not even for their "ideas"/"ideals"...

CPT Jack Durish Yuri Bezmenov explains it better than I, but the left who have been subverted refuse to believe they were the recipients of that subversion.

The brainwashing of American society it has been going on for decades. But for new ideas to take hold you need time. About two generations removed from the original idea, at three generations there is no going back. Look at films and cartoons of WWII, on the surface they aren't really that much different (not talking about filming techniques but content). The message is different. Oh sure there is a hero but what is he/she fighting for? What is the cause of the drama? What has become socially acceptable in film today that wasn't in the 1940's? If you pay attention, you can see this transformation in kids shows and sitcoms. Because what did every family back in the day watch? Now its social media... we are close to the point of no return.

Spot on Sir.
I just did a post about this. The divide is mostly Urban vs Rural. Those In cities depend more on Social Programs and those that are more rural are more self-sufficient. Too many city dwellers rely on Government for the daily needs of life and will never take responsibility for themselves, and the government has made it so. I prefer to be left alone and take care of my family, and I expect everyone else to do the same.
