Why Fort Bragg was named for a Confederate general — and why it's time to change it

It is not time to change anything, these were great men who fought for what they believed in. We may disagree with their beliefs but that does not change the reality of the time.

Instead of improving soldiers living standards, we are gonna spend millions to change names of bases? This is progressiveness at its very worst. Are we gonna change the name of the country or the continent next? Rename all 50 states? Rename the District of Columbia? ...since we hate Columbus now....you can see that I’m Native American so tell me how changing all of the previous changes lives at all Reservations? ....I’m waiting!!!!

Fort Bragg is known more for being the home of the Airborne than it is known for being named after a slave owner. A name is just that. Guess what? Until the whole bs, plenty never heard it..
