There are many reasons why the VA benefits program and the Appeals process are broken SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. Incompetence and bureaucratic inefficiency are two of the primary reasons. Thankfully criminal negligence only shows up in some areas. I hope that will diminish.

LTC Stephen F. If employees do not fear for their continued employment, they develop an do not give a xxxx attitude. That attitude coupled with lack of intellect and ability hurts America and it's Veterans!

I have met people who work at the center's where appeals are processed. They have explained how the buildings are pretty much in secret locations, very secure structures that have no markings identifying them. That speaks volumes to me about the fact that the VA knows about the situation and how unhappy the veterans are with the process. If a lot of the beurocracy was removed and some streamlining was done, proper managers hired this could probably be cleared up in just a few years. Also remove the pressure to deny claims. Let's do what's right for our veterans and fulfill the VA's motto.
