Honestly, I didn't know any of this. I had seen video of Ted Neugent and friends blasting away and was perplexed. I recently saw video of machine gunners blasting away at Knob Creek, Tennessee and again wondered. Now I know. So, thanks. The veil of confusion has been raised.

I can understand the average news reporter not knowing, but at times, we have people on RP that either don't know or care from their posts.

Another problem with this is there is also differences between assault rifle, sub-machine gun, light machine gun, and machine gun. All are capable of automatic fire, but are different weapons.
