My husband grew up in California in the 60s and 70s...he wouldn't live there now.

With all its progressive politicians and its social program giveaways, I wouldn't want to live there either. It's not the same place as it was in the 80s and 90s.

And even less like the '50s and 'early '60s when I was born and lived in Pasadena. I went back to the Bay Area from July '91-Jan. '95, living in Petaluma and working as exec. editor of Presidio Press in Novato. I also did some adjunct night U.S. history courses for the College of Marin and Univ. of San Francisco. Had to give up the teaching because I refused to join the teachers' union. . . .

My hometown was San Francisco til 1960 then I and it went away!

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. You could not pay me enough to work or live in California. I have been stationed there, many of my ships were home ported there, many of my military schools attended were in California, and from what I have seen, my opening response says it all!
