Sounds interesting, but the troops should be running in the best shoes available, no matter where they come from.

SGT (Join to see) - The PX! I think they're made where most shoes are made, China.
New Ballance is the only shoe maker who would be able to meet the contract. That's why this is a terrible idea. Especially since the running shoe is not a part of the PT ensemble, each service member wearing their preferred shoe. If New Ballance gets their way, new soldiers would only be able to wear New Ballance shoes.
When I went to Basic training, we were not allowed to wear shoes we brought from home, but required to buy running shoes at the shoppette. New Ballance was the only brand they carried. I'm pretty certain mine was misfit, but it was the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn. I have never had any interest in ever owning another pair. That's doubly true now that they're lobbying to force us to wear them.

SGT (Join to see) - Same in my dad's time, sergeant! I'm a national guardsman, so all my PT is on my own. I ruck instead of run, and I wear boots. I've found that if I work on rucking, my run takes care of itself for the most part. I run once a month at the most.

SSgt (Join to see), I've not thought about until now, but I never got blisters in those boots. I guess they were better boots than I gave them credit for. Is your dad a Vietnam vet?
