One thing MacArthur got totally right was to not fight a war in the Far East. If the balloon goes up nuke strikes become pretty certain since the U.S. cannot stage a war with any certainty from 5000 miles away while China only has to cover a few hundred. Logistics alone say this is not a real winnable campaign.

He was fired by Truman for wanting to attack China.
But Truman did fire MacArthur, whose complaints against the commander in chief had grown louder and more public. MacArthur wanted to expand the war against China, which had entered the Korean fighting in late 1950. MacArthur complained that the president was tying his hands by forbidding the bombing of China, thereby sacrificing American lives and endangering American freedom.

MCPO Roger Collins agreed. Mac wanted us to use our superior technology and military. We no longer have that technological or military superiority.

Why would China not make a move in Taiwan? Taiwan has no allies. The United States has proven that there is no help coming from there. It makes on wonder why. Does the Biden bunch understand geopolitics?
