Why We Shouldn’t Cut Military Bands From The Budget

In the bigger picture this reminds me yet again that as a musician here in the USA I am part of a profession that is becoming more and more in danger of dying out before I pass from old age. Yet, it was going to numerous live concerts of bands from all of the services that helped me seal the deal to join the USMC as a musician in the first place. Also, more and more musicians currently employed in top ensembles are beginning to come from a military music background as opposed to fresh from college or school.
