LTC Eugene Chu Even though your source is huffpost, I am willing to read it. Won't open. From the lede, however appears as though huffpost is conflating a drug formulated for animals with a human formula FDA approved in 1996. If so, VERY dishonest.

Hydroxychloroquine was FDA approved in 1955. Useful and safe.
Neither drug is touted as a "cure" by anyone. Simply potential prophylaxis. I was prescribed it. My daughterinlawthedoctor (one word) prescribes it. If they are worthless, let's find out. If they have potential, let's find that out, too. To shut down research into these for cheap political shots at 50+% of the American electorate is both foolish and criminal. One thing you CAN say is that they are both much less expensive than the various vaccines. Follow the money.

Maybe if the idiots at the FDA and CDC hadn't frightened doctors out of prescribing the HUMAN version of ivermectin, we wouldn't have people self prescribing the animal version.

Does ivermectin work against COVID? That is the bigger question and worthy of investigation, rather than reminding people that they are not cows.
