We already have them with the Big Deck amphips and the F-35B. USS America is about to demonstrate the capability on her next deployment leaving all the helos behind and on-loading 20 F-35s with two specially outfitted Ospreys to refuel the jets. Unfortunately the Navy plans to go back to a well deck after the first two halls of that class. My hope is that they reconsider and build more of the aviation versions of the ship.

PO2 Robert Aitchison - Well at least we will have a good basis to start building them should we need to augment the CVN fleet. Should keep cost down since it is an existing design and shares parts with the whole class of ships. For now look like they are going back to the Amphip versions.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel thanks for the interesting share. On March 17 POTUS was in my home city, Newport News, VA, and wants a bigger Navy, hopefully an assortment of the best the DOD can provide from small to big Escort Carries.
