Certainly the use of Anesthesia to put a patient out during a dental surgery process, tooth extraction or other dental procedure was a good thing. To end the extreme pain and suffering by being fully awake was something that needed to be addressed. It was bad enough having to face these dental Procedures without making it torture.

Seems this also isn't the first and not by any means the last time someone would try to claim the credit for another's work. To the patient the important thing is it is used and end the dentist chair as a unintended place of torture in the process of treatment.

Could you imagine amputations during the Civil War without ether? Horrible to even think about. SMSgt Lawrence McCarter

SGT (Join to see) - No, although often they had to as they just didn't have all the supplies they needed.

SGT (Join to see) Certaily hard to imagine, but amputations had gone on during wars for centuries before this.
