And Now for Something Completely Different! No, this is not Monty Python marching up and down the square! But would it be interested to know that David Ben-Gurion and another president of Israel marched up and down the square at a basic training base in Nova Scotia in 1918 prior to shipping out to Palestine to fight the ottoman Turks. Nova Scotia is honoring this connection to Israel's first and second prime minister. Would you want to read this article here on rallypoint or do you have something else you would rather be doing? What do you say Sergeants Major?

My major recall of Halifax on about 9/13/2001, was a huge wooden ramp at the harbour. The tour guide said a million men had gone up that ramp as they were embarking to fight in Europe during WW II.

CSM Charles Hayden of course that would affect everything. I knew a friend who was flying in from Hawaii and he was one of the last planes allowed to land before they had a complete shutdown of all Air space in United States.

LTC (Join to see) We called ahead of arrival there, reserved a room and on our arrival were told it was in error, that Halifax was FULL ! We did manage a room. Full sized bed with a canyon in the center of the mattress! Thereafter, I strive to reserve rooms with two twin/ double beds - no more canyon mattresses for me!

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen very true but I think the Jews really became Focus after the Holocaust and that's how they were able to funnel fighter planes weapons and people into Palestine and make sure they could win their independence against the Arab armies. I don't blame them.
