Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has not tipped his hand about how he plans to vote at the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump.
"While the press has been full of speculation, I have not made a final decision on how I will vote and I intend to listen to the legal arguments when they are presented to the Senate,” the Kentucky Republican has told his GOP colleagues, per his office.
Let’s frame that another way: The Republican leader of the Senate is leaving open the possibility of convicting the Republican president for “incitement of insurrection” and him from ever holding elected office again.

Mitch is going to start feeling the pinch in an unrelenting fashion, as many of his reliable corporate donors have discontinued supporting any Republicans associated with the insurrection or endorsing the false allegation of election fraud.

While true, Mitch isn't trying to lose any more of the Senate than he has to. Corporate sponsors are the lifeblood of the Republican party and he can't afford to be without it for long

We know he’s taking orders from the GOP wealthy donors and not the one’s donating to Trump’s phony political PAC. Once they decide how to handle Trump’s 2024 ambitions will dictate what McConnell instructs his Moderates to do. Wait for it.
