Benjamin O. Davis, General, USAF (Ret) in WWII as a Fighter pilot. He also was the only black cadet at the US Military Academy, West Point and despite the discrimination succeeded and graduated in the top 1/3 of the class. Here was a born leader and one that was never intimidated by anyone. Another one of His fellow Tuskegee Airmen, General "Chappie" James rose to Four star rank and served as Commander of NORAD, North American Air Defense Command and was responsible for the Air defense of all of North America, both Canada and the United States. General James also was a fighter pilot and Commander of a Fighter Wing in the Viet Nam War as a Colonel . These are both men to be looked up to and admired and esp as leaders in the United States Air Force.
