Had the Russian submarine fired their nuclear torpedo during the Cuban Missile Crisis, I don't know if I'd be alive today. I was born on October 28th, 1962 during the tail end of the Cuban Missile Crisis. If I were alive today, I don't know there would be much left of the USA.

We owe our lives to many decent people who had the "button" in their hands. Sadly, that button is passing into the hands of the Islamic Death Cult and I don't expect them to exercise restraint.

CPT Jack Durnish, I suspect that you are correct in your estimation. There is no negotiating with terrorists, and this current ilk has a particular disdain for the American culture. Some would have you believe that if we are "nice" to them that they will come to the negotiating table in a calm, cool manner. Sadly, the only thing they wish to do is remove your head from your body because we are infidels.

I originally saw the story on a BBC DVD. It really freaked me out. Also, Nikita Khrushchev son said that the local commanders on the ground had permission to fire their missiles in case they lost contact with Moscow.
