If you read to the end did you see the bias? Did you notice the bias in the examples used? It appears that the author of this"discertation" is attempting to help those of the Right overcome their proclivity for not listening, to be more open-minded like those on the Left? Well, let's pray they learn...

CPT Jack Durish Well you know, reality does have a well known liberal bias... Lol.
Seriously if you want a sanitized reading on the phenomenon.

Backfire effect - RationalWiki
The backfire effect occurs when, in the face of contradictory evidence, established beliefs do not change but actually get stronger. The effect has been demonstrated experimentally in psychological tests, where subjects are given data that either reinforces or goes against their existing biases - and in most cases people can be shown to increase their confidence in their prior position regardless of the evidence they were faced with.

Just so you know, Sir, I see this same thing happening in many Lefties I talk to. Being a bit if a Centrist, I get crap from both sides, and I see this same pattern on both sides. So, even if you think it was a little biased in its presentation, take solace in the fact that some of us see it in the Liberals, too.

SPC Kevin Ford I got to the end of the article, and was still too nauseated at what a set of teeth with gold, lead, ivory and donkey teeth would look like when speaking to George Washington. I would rather they were in fact hardwood than to read that.

PO3 Steven Sherrill We should certainly be happy we live with modern dental world. Probably people 100 years from now will think our modern dental work is barbaric but at least it is visually appealing.
I was just reading earlier today that we are experimenting with ways to regrow tissue in damaged teeth instead of fillings. It would seem that at some point in the near future we may no longer have fillings but instead just regrow the tooth in total or in part.

SPC Kevin Ford - Then we can be like sharks with rows of teeth waiting to replace the ones we lose!

Apparently, not a safe for work link, either. Oh, well. Have to look at it when I get home.

Sorry, the imagery is fine some of the language here and there not so much. Well worth the read when you get home though.
