Did I read it correctly, they only surveyed 10% of the fleet at other bases?

Yep, but with that sample, they found 1 out of 5 had the problem, so enough deficient that they all had to be checked and retrofitted... That's How I read it, Robert... Still the first two collapses should have been enough to have all F22's retrofitted/corrected anyway if, indeed, they were found defective...

WOW!!! Lt Col Charlie Brown, it is very fortunate that this was caught before any more front landing gear collapses!

The kick-stand is located on the left side of the F-22. The pilot is supposed to step out of the cockpit with the canopy raised and climb down the fuselage until he reases the stand and deploys it.
