I served 3 years AD, currently serving 3 years in the Guard. The Day I ETS begins my every intention to get back into the active component (conditional release difficult due to bonus attached to my contract).

I know there is a whole list of feeder MOSs that translate to the warrant officer field, my more specific questions are what is your MOS as a Warrant and why do you love it?

Which ones are typically less deployments? predictable work schedule? (I understand what I signed up for, deployments are inevitable and work schedules can be absolutely insane, but having a wife and three kiddos puts me in a situation where I would at least like to be self aware)

Just doing my due diligence and preparation, any insight appreciated!

The two maritime Warrants are open to anyone, as is the paralegal. 880 and 881 you operate army watercraft, there's like only 2 duty stations and no commissioned officers. Paralegal the lowest level you'll work on id like a Divosion HQ.

Thank you Sir! Would you advise having one of these feeder MOSs prior to even though it is open to everyone? Does it give you a leg up?

SPC (Join to see) the boats and paralegal are open to any MOS, no feeder required. Others, if you can prove you have equivalent knowledge from self study, college, etc you can ask the proponent and see if you have a chance. You may apply for 3 at a time

Most all your technical MOSs (aviation, engineers, intel, S&S, Trans, etc)have more WO positions. You have online access, do some research.

Thank you for your response SGM, I explained my question in the description below more in depth. I’ve done plenty of research, but nothing beats hearing some first hand experience from those who have done it!
