About

An early attempt to give the Army long range fires with nuclear capability. The Honest John is an unguided rocket using a simple ballistic trajectory to reach its target. While spectacular to watch launch not exactly a game changer. Max range was limited and put launching crew at risk of its fallout.

Best parts of having this specialty

It was fun to go to Grafenwhoer to launch, beat the boredom of staying in the barracks. We would launch a couple every year.

Cleaning the launch rail after launch and repainting it.

Advice on how to transfer to this specialty

Get a time machine, this system hasn't been used in decades. Our launcher was on a 54 Studebaker chassis.
