After asking around, I've noticed that a lot of people think they know what Pathfinder is but hardly any of them have been. I'm curious about what people struggled with, or found challenging at the school.

SGT, Pathfinder school was probably the most mentally challenging school I attended.  As far as preparing for it?  Just go in with an open mind ready to learn.  Other than that there's not much more I would tell you to do to prepare.  Once you are there I will tell you to LISTEN, take notes, and STUDY!  When your class wants to get together for study sessions, GO!!!  Pathfinder school was a great school and when you get done, ensure you are put into a position where you can use those newly acquired skills!  Don't be a badge chaser, do the tough jobs that require your newly found expertise!

A great tool to take with you is 50 meters of small diameter
rope (1/4 " cotton webbing, 550, 3mm cordage ) and mark it at 2.5m, 5m,
7m, 14m, 25m, 35m (all the pertinent measurements for HLZ setup). This will
help tremendously and save a lot of time when going through the HLZ part of the
course. Oh, and again.... the formulas. Memorize ALL of them!

The rope is a great idea sir, provided the instructors allow you to do so. The saying of Rear Admiral Grace Hopper would apply rather nicely to this idea: "It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission."
Great example of working smarter and not harder.

I think there is a link on the RP site, I would suggest checking the RP search engine. You could either find the school info or people who have it in their profiles and then you could hit them up for info content as well.

Good luck.
